AN original antique silver set C. 1900. This Tiffany sterling silver flatware pattern, traditionally eighteenth century French style, was designed by Charles T. Grojean for Tiffany & Company The patent date is 1885, being introduced by Tiffany the same year. This sterling silver is based on eighteenth century French design, with a shell both front and back. Medallion silver, shovel shaped berry spoon, with ornate shaded engraving covering most of the vermeil bowl. The reverse of the bowl is also vermeil. The maker, Wendt, famous for his Medallion silver, worked in Boston and New York. Marked 925 Ball, Black & Co., who was the retailer. These marks, without the word sterling, indicate the piece was made prior 1865. Length 8 1/2" Bowl 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
