It is unusual to have Rebecca At The Well shell cameos because scenic cameos are not often seen. The style pin on the back dates this cameo 1895. These Italian shell cameos were very popular during the 19th century when travel to the continent was so much in vogue. Women purchased them as momentos. 1/3/8" by 1 1/2" The cameo is set within a gold filled ribbon frame, typical of the period. Excellent condition.
