A Medallion piece marked sterling. Length 9.5" Please note the narrow flange rim. Nice patina; excellent condition. Stamped with Gorham anchor, lion, and Old English G, Pat. 1864, sterling, and the retailer name Crosby & Morse. That company was in Boston. There is a monogram "H" on the reverse.

Five forks 7 3/8" long, the best strawberry I have seen in a long time. Retailed by Palmer & Bachelder & Co, Boston. The design is very sharp, all the seeds are on the berries, front and back, and the shanks are thicker than usual. There is a script monogram on the back.

Classic coffin-end handle, incised pointed arch drop on bowl back. Length 9 1/4" Shank heavier than the usual coin silver tablespoon. Coffin spoons are very collectable, date 1795-1825 The maker's mark is very clear, C&P in a rectangle. According to Green's "Marks of American Silversmiths" it is probably William Cleveland, Norwich, Ct. and Zanesville, Ohio. and Post though Green offers no cartouche. c. 1805 There is a monogram. Daniel Rogers worked 1753-1792 in Ipswich, Massachusetts and in Newport, Rhode Island. This spoon is one of a collection of 18th century spoons that has been in a bank box for the last 30 years. It has been slightly hand cleaned. There is a delightful shimmer on the shank, only seen on an early handwrought piece of silver. Length 9" The maker's mark is on the reverse.

The monograms indicate the spoon was given to someone, probably on a birthday . There is a monogram, then the word "to" and the monogram of the one who received the spoon. There is also the letter "B" and the date 1745, the "B" probably meaning born 1745. The maker of this spoon is W. Moulton IV, working 1772-1861, one of the Moulton Silversmiths forming the lineage of craftsmen to be later known as the Towle Smithsmiths in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
