A fabulous piece, a very rare one by the famous Medallion silversmith John Wendt. Length 11" Width 3.5" It has detailed engraving, mint condition, covering the entire 5" long blade and the pointed fingers. It has a monogram on the back. It is marked 925 Ball, Black & Co. who was the retailer. Wendt did not mark his pieces with a mark of his own. This is an unusually heavy piece, well balanced. The condition is excellent. Date - prior 1865.

An original vegetable spoon; the finish has not been machine buffed so it has its original finish. We spend much time hand polishing so that your silver will have a satin like silver color, a rich patina. Machine buffing destroys what time has created. It has no monogram, no removal as we do not remove monograms as that does erase the charisma of the piece. The picture looks like it is a flat server but it is a bowl with some depth and flange rims Length 9 1/2" .
