Dazzling bright-cut engraved 13 PIECE ICE CREAM SET marked with Peter
Krider's 1865- 1875 mark,retailed by Bailey & Co., marked sterling. Peter Krider was one of Philadelphia's great silversmiths; Bailey a well known retailer in Philadelphia. The set has one slice and 12 ice cream spoons with sparkling bright-cut decor on a combination matte and polished background, with vermeil accents on each side of the heart in the bowls . Six ice teaspoons, also wonderful to use when serving a parfait for dessert. Many patterns have ice teaspoons, but to find them in Lily by Watson means I go to the head of the class. A 1902 pattern. There is a very small Old English "M" monogram. The hallmark is the Watson
one, not the Watson ,Newell & Co. one. Picture looks like vermeil finish on the bowls, but that look was caused by the lighting.
