The original "Newboy" Brigantine (1854) was built at Owls Head, Maine. It was engaged in triangular trade to the Mediterranean with New England goods, then to the West Indies with with wine, oil, and fruits and back to Boston with a cargo of sugar, Molasses and rum. This model ship is scratch built; it is not assembled from a kit. It was built by Arthur J.
