| Maker of this spoon is Samuel Burill, Boston Silversmith 1704-1740 The shank has exceptional bright cut work leading to the oval with a monogram. The back of the bowl has a somewhat worn bird, worn as that area rests on the table, resting there since early in the 1700s. The shank seems thicker than most coin spoons. The maker's mark "SB" is on the reverse but the B is not showing in my picture but it is there. Please note that the mark between the letters is not a dot but a tiny triangle. That make a difference in the identification. Please see picture for drop. Tip of bowl very good, as well as the bowl. | ||
